The best grapes from the best soils

Andreas Bender:

"The most important thing for me are first-class grapes from the best locations, traditional winemaking and uncompromising quality.”

The selection

Andreas Bender manages vineyards in two important German wine-growing regions:

• In the Mosel the focus lies on the white wine, particularly on Riesling.
• In the Pfalz the concentration is on the reds, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

The wines of the Mosel

• Pinot Blanc: ripe, powerful "Mosel-interpretation" of this classic variety.

• Paulessen: dry, light, elegant fruit, mineral driven, modern style Mosel Riesling

• Paulessen Zenit *: dry Riesling, the "big brother" of the Paulessen. Stronger, more mature, and more structured.

• Dajoar: semi-dry Riesling with delicate sweetness and refreshing tang.

• Dajoar Zenit *: semi-dry Riesling made in the style of Spätlese or Auslese, depending on the year. Dynamic depth, incredible body, intense and structured.

• Hofpäsch: noble sweet Riesling made in classic Mosel-style with little alcohol, crisp acidity and delicate yet present minerality.

• Hofpäsch Zenit *: dessert Riesling with Auslese or Beerenauslese characteristics (depending on the year).

* The Zenit-wines - signifies the "climax" - are the designation of Andrea’s exemplary interpretation of the “perfect” Mosel wine. They are the most powerful and profound wines from Bender, produced only in years when the grapes meet the quality requirements of the German wine designations.

The wines from the Pfalz

• The White: fresh, fruity and aromatic blend for everyday drinking pleasure. A blend from Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc.

• The Red: young, harmonious, Pinot Noir-dominated full-bodied blend. Features lush fruit of black and red berry flavours and savoury characteristics.

• The Rosé: fresh, elegant wine with fruity and delicate aromas of strawberries and raspberries.

• Rosé Secco: crisp, fresh, dry with delicate fruit and fine pearly bubbles.

• Cabernet Sauvignon: powerful, full bodied wine with attitude. Warm-spice and classic cassis fruit.

• Merlot: storybook Merlot from the Palatinate: jammy, full-bodied and smooth.

• Pinot Noir: elegant and refined, a beautiful representation of this challenging varietal.

Sweet wines
